Courses

Adult Christian education is available in the Diocese to help you come to a deeper understanding of the Christian faith.

There is a course provided through the Theological Institute of the Scottish Episcopal Church (TISEC) which offers academic qualifications for those who seek ordination (after selection) or for those who would simply like to learn more. Details are available from the Bishop’s Office in Dundee or alternatively, click here.

From time to time the Diocese runs its own education courses introducing the Christian faith – again please ask for information from the Diocesan office.

The Bishop occasionally runs a two-evening course, ‘Why we do what we do’ – mainly intended for those who come to the Episcopal church from other Christian denominations. Contact the Bishop’s Office for details.

Ecumenical & Inter-Faith Relations

There are many excellent Ecumenical relations across the Diocese, where local congregations share worship and other occasions with neighbouring Christian churches. For more information contact the Bishop’s Office or click here for the Action for Churches Together in Scotland website.

The Diocese of Brechin especially through its cathedral has good relations with other faith communities. To find out more, click here.

Prayer for the Season:

Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing that you have made and forgive the sins of all those who are penitent:
create and make in us new and contrite hearts that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may receive from you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
